Ingredients

Serves: 1 sandwich (easily doubled or tripled)
2 slices sourdough bread, toasted
1 Tbsp (15 g) reduced-fat cream cheese
1 Tbsp cranberry sauce
2 oz roasted turkey breast, sliced or shredded (leftovers)
About 2–3 Tbsp prepared stuffing, warmed (roughly 1⁶ cup)
Small handful alfalfa sprouts or mixed greens (optional but so good)

This Thanksgiving Fixins’ Sandwich is basically the holiday plate… but in cozy, hand-held form. Toasted sourdough, creamy reduced-fat cream cheese, tart cranberry sauce, juicy turkey, and a little leftover stuffing all stack up into the perfect next-day bite.

It’s everything you love about Thanksgiving dinner, just simplified into a lighter, macro-friendly sandwich you can throw together in 5 minutes.

  1. Toast the sourdough.
Toast the 2 slices of sourdough until they’re golden and crisp on the edges.

  2. Spread the cream cheese.
On a cutting board or plate, lay both slices of toast flat.

    • Spread the reduced-fat cream cheese over one of the slices.

  3. Add cranberry sauce.
Spread the cranberry sauce evenly over the second slice of toast. This will be your “bottom” slice so the cranberry can soak into the bread and help hold everything together.

  4. Layer the Thanksgiving fixins’.
On top of the cranberry-sauce slice, layer in this order:

    • Warmed stuffing

    • Sliced or shredded turkey

    • Alfalfa sprouts or greens, if using

  5. Assemble and serve.
Place the cream-cheese-topped slice over the layered fillings, cream cheese side down, to close the sandwich.
Slice in half if you like, and enjoy warm.

Tips & Swaps

  • Make it higher protein: Add a little extra turkey or use a thicker slice (up to 3–4 oz).

  • No sourdough? Any hearty bread works—just choose something that toasts well and can hold the fillings.

  • More tang: Use a cranberry-orange relish or add a squeeze of lemon over the turkey before closing the sandwich.

  • Warm & melty option: After assembling, press the sandwich in a skillet or panini press for a few minutes until warmed through.

Approximate Nutrition (per sandwich)
